The brain break list: take a walk at Wendy’s secret garden at Sydney

Created by Australian artist Wendy Whiteley, this is the place to love, loss and renewal, the same energy you need when you create.

There are plants, plants and more plants. Natives, exotics, herbs and towering fig trees run along winding gully paths while parrots, gulls, kookaburras, owls and wagtails chatter amidst the flowers and berries. It is working on this garden (literrally planting, pruning, fertilising) that channels out Wendy’s grief over losing her husband 20 years ago and the only daughter 9 years later. After 20 years of work, this garden now is absolutely stunning. I bet you can dream up something creative while you are there.

Thanks for Jennifer Lam for her lovely photos.
